Battle Factory Seeded Runs

For when you're sure you would have won that round

What is this?

This is a mod for Pokémon Emerald's Battle Factory that lets you set a seed before your run. Setting a seed means you'll get the same draft, the same team generation, and the same in-battle RNG — every time, for everyone using that seed.

That means multiple people can do "the same run" and compare how they got on.

You can also choose which round to drop into, so you're not stuck starting from scratch each time.

Each week this page will have a new seed and a suggested round — jump in, give it a go, and share how you got on!

Download this small patch file (under 10MB), then follow the instructions below.

Download factory-sync-seed.bps (V1.3.1)

V1.3.1 only updates the "Set Streak" functionality for doubles, it's the same as V1.3 for singles and doubles gameplay

Applying the Patch
Video setup guide
  1. You'll need your own legal copy of Pokémon Emerald (GBA, USA).
  2. Use an online ROM patcher (such as this one) to get the modified version of the ROM.
  3. Load your Emerald ROM into the tool, then load the .bps patch file.
  4. Hit Apply and save the output as a new .gba file.
  5. Load the patched file in your GBA emulator of choice and you're good to go.
How to Play
  • Start a new game and get through the intro.
  • When you exit the truck you'll be taken straight to the Battle Facilities — that's intentional!
  • Find the guy standing next to the Battle Factory singles desk and talk to him. He'll let you set your seed and your streak number.
  • Head in and start a streak — you should see information on-screen confirming the Seeded state is active.
  • Check the in-game Settings menu if you want to see which version of the patch you're running.
