What is this?

This is a mod for Pokémon Emerald's Battle Factory that lets you set a seed before your run. Setting a seed means you'll get the same draft, the same team generation, and the same in-battle RNG — every time, for everyone using that seed.

That means multiple people can do "the same run" and compare how they got on.

You can also choose which round to drop into, so you're not stuck starting from scratch each time.

Each week this page will have a new seed and a suggested round — jump in, give it a go, and share how you got on!

Submissions & Rules

Each week a new seed is released on Thursday. Play through as far as you can and submit your result using the form below. Submissions received within 10 days of the seed release earn a bonus point — after that they're still accepted but the bonus is forfeited.

Rules
  • Same basic Factory rules as on the leaderboard — except that you must play on V1.4 of the Seeded Factory mod rather than vanilla.
  • You must submit your first attempt at the seed.
  • You must make an honest best effort to NOT spoil what's in the seed for yourself. If you see a thumbnail with something in by accident that's fine. Just be sensible and don't e.g. read a bunch of spoilered discord discussion, read results if you're submitting late or jump into a stream of someone else attempting the seed.
  • Streaming of the seed is encouraged, just try to make it clear somehow (title or thumbnail) what you're doing so people trying to adhere to the above point know what they're getting into.

Applying the Patch
Video setup guide
  1. You'll need your own legal copy of Pokémon Emerald (GBA, USA).
  2. Use an online ROM patcher (such as this one) to get the modified version of the ROM.
  3. Load your Emerald ROM into the tool, then load the .bps patch file.
  4. Hit Apply and save the output as a new .gba file.
  5. Load the patched file in your GBA emulator of choice and you're good to go.
How to Play
  • Start a new game and get through the intro.
  • When you exit the truck you'll be taken straight to the Battle Facilities — that's intentional!
  • Find the guy standing next to the Battle Factory singles desk and talk to him. He'll let you set your seed and your streak number.
  • Head in and start a streak — you should see information on-screen confirming the Seeded state is active.
  • Check the in-game Settings menu if you want to see which version of the patch you're running.
Verification

To confirm everything is working, enter seed TEST, Round 12, Open Level Singles. You should get this exact draft:
